Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known, was an American-born British musician and vocalist who led the women-only hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. It wasn't possible for the group to be popular in America, but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for several years. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. The most recent album 'Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
